I have made a costume kite.

Measurement

_______________________________
The line above the words is 5.5cm long.
I measured from the 0 on the ruler.
We also learnt about area.
If a square is 5cm down and 7 across you do this 5X7=35squared
This would be how you measure the full area:
10X14=
But the first way is easier and its the proper way.

Missing in Venice

Bonk!,A blearing fog horn from the canals of Venice, blew me out of bed this morning.
"Jimmy, breakfast is ready!" yelled Mum as I trawled out of bed.
"Get dressed!" Mum screamed, only because I was in my PJs.
My school uniform was tight and breakfast was burnt to black.
My day was already letting me down.

Bobby's story.
It was a nice day in my town house on the outskirts of Venice until a fog horn woke me up from my nice sleep.
So I clamber out of bed to get ready to build more boats the, supposedly from Titania, the biggest liner in the world(After Titanic),started to consume the city's fresh air.

Ben's story
Have you ever seen a liner in a canal?
Here's how I saw Titania in the Venice canal.
I was walking down a Venice foot path to school and I smelled smoke.
I thought that it would be someones fireplace ablaze.
When I arrived at school,I saw Titania in the Venice canal.

Jimmy's story cont.
"Quick turn the barge!"I screamed at Mum.
"Bail out!"Yelled Mum.
I jumped off the barge and I landed on the canal path to help Mum out.

Ben's story cont.
I ran up a building that was about to get ramed by Titania to do an imposable thing...the leap of faith...I'm going to land on Titania and halt.
"Ahhh!" I screamed whilst thinking about everyone I knew,Jimmy, best friend,Bobby, grumpy boat builder.
Splat!!
"Och!" I swore whilst holding my leg in the air.

Outro
Will ben stop and save Titania and Venice or will Venice be a pile of shattered glass and bricks.

Year 5/6 Living Springs camp

This is me having a hard time on the low ropes.

Living Springs camp chain poem

Living Springs camp,new experiences.
Perched high on a grassy hill, the monorail watches Living Springs.
The rail of steel bends holding the weight.
With a speed of lightning.
And a very heavy force like a plane.
Minor friction on the trail.
Slowing near the end.
Screech after being pushed on the end zone.
Again!everyone yells
The carts are as heavy as a rhino.

Pop art

Choose your culture, treat it four ways.
We are able to share our cultural identities through the arts.

We are learning about the elements and techniques of painting.

1. We researched  paintings made from Andy Warhol and took some of his ideas.

2.On a A4 piece of  paper we draw our icon from our culture and we drew over it 4-7 times. I chose a fish and chip van from New Zealand because I like fish and chips, NZ fish and chips are the best.

3. On a A3 sheet of paper  we lightly drew two lines to make a horizontal line and a vertical line.

4.We had to make sure that all the boxes are even and can fit a A4 piece of paper.

5.We flip are drawings upside down and drew back over our drawing so the led was pushed on the paper.

6.We had to do stage 5 three more times and drawing back over our drawings was a must

7.Then we drew back over our icon on the A3 sheet.

8. The fun but long part,PAINTING! Using these types of painting:

  • Monochromatic: Shades and tints from the same hue.
  • Analogous: Choose one colour on the colour wheel and use the colours beside it(eg. yellow, green and orange).
  • Complementary: Colours opposite of each other on the colour wheel.
  • B&W: Black and white.

9.We waited for are paintings of are icons to dry.

10.We painted over the icon dividing lines with black and waited for them to dry.

My comment: I think it was really fun but sometimes things went wrong.

My rating on our rubric: Multistructural because I could have done better but I'm proud of what I've done.
